He is a Non-Executive Director at England Athletics Passionate about Diversity, Science & Technology, Social Mobility, the Arts and Sport, Tunji has also resided on the councils of Grant Thornton, techUK and Teach First. At PwC he is actively involved in several diversity and inclusion initiatives covering ethnicity, gender and social mobility. He supports his passions externally through his Ilesha Charitable Trust providing bursaries and scholarships to students and donations to a number of charities. Tunji is a patron of the autism charity, CASPA and has previously founded two social enterprises to inspire students to pursue careers in STEM. I am passionate about developing and maintaining a strong, independent third sector in the Borough, which is responsive and makes a real difference to the heart of local communities. I have been described as a person-centered, innovative, solutions-focused leader, with key skills including strategic development & review, organisational restructuring, funding and income generation, tendering and commissioning, people management, and change management. I have been an operational commander, staff director, policymaker and strategist in politicised, high-profile situations. I have found out the hard way that organisations only succeed when they secure the robust commitment of their people to make change work. Turning even the best strategy into substantive practical action through fair processes and respectful working practices is seldom easy, indeed it can seem impossible. I have managed to do it by applying the hard experience of what actually works and I am keen to share that. Since leaving the Army as a major general in 2012, I have continued to work as a strategist and leading executive in healthcare and in the third sector.
